Great devices that are essentials for travel
Ok loved the design, batter charge last a good amount and definitely delivers on performance. I was having full on conversations with simultaneous mode….but really shined in Listening mode…. I have a translation device that I keep in my ear on “listening mode” and a hand held translator to help get around the city…. My arms were ashy so I went up to the nearby store and the attendant asked if I needed anything so I used my handheld device and said I would like some lotion. The clerk looks at his friend and says in Spanish “Look at this white boy getting lotion, I bet he is wasting all his money on prostitutes” I hear him in my ear device and grab my handheld and say “No prostitutes tonight, I have dry skin” and smile He laughs I laugh and I leave with some lotion About two hours go by and I realize I need garbage bags so I have to go back to the store..while I’m going up there I am definitely coming up with something to joke around with the clerk….sooo when I get there I put on a concerning look and talk into my hand held translator saying “Excuse me, where are the garbage bags? The prostitute I ordered was allergic to the lotion and died. Now I need to dispose of her body…..can you help me? I held a straight face and he says loudly in Spanish WHAT!?!?! I laugh, he laughs, and I made a new friend that day….miss ya Hector

Terrible interpretations
First of all, the earbuds are too large and do not stay in the ear. Secondly, and most importantly, the translations were so inaccurate translating Russian and Ukrainian to English. Even my English to Russian or Ukrainian was inaccurate and I spoke slowly and clearly. Very disappointed and I wish I would have never believed the other reviews.

I wanted this to be th eone.
I think we all dream of being able to travel and pop in an earbud and understand everything around us. Unfortunately, we aren't there yet. While the Timekettle WT2Edge/W3 had some nice moments it just wasn't enough for me to justify the price. I took a chance paying a premium on this for travel and work. While it performed decent at listening and translating from Spanish to English it did take a while. The accuracy of the LIVE chat is what I was most excited about. I tested it with several people with different Spanish-speaking backgrounds and it was unfortunately not as accurate as I'd hope. I tried adjusting the settings from forums/support and even downloaded the language offline with the card. For me, it was just too spotty. It will do what it says, just not at the accuracy/speed that I want. For that reason I returned the product.

MUCH better than google translate!!
We have a lot of Spanish-speaking employees and communication has always been a concern. We tried every product you can think of and nothing seemed to work as advertised. We recently purchased the WT2 edge from TimeKettle and it's exactly what we have been looking for. The conversation is smooth and our employees love the product. Very Satisfied!

It does what it claims to do... almost
I got these translator earbuds to help with a business meeting (Chinese <-> English). I got 2 pairs so 4 of us could use them. These are the good parts: 1. Connection was easy to do. Got the app and click on the “connect” button in the app (don’t connect them via the phone’s Bluetooth menu). They connected easily and quickly. 2. Battery life was very good. We used them in an all-day meeting of 6 hours. We took a lunch break halfway (3 hours) and left them recharging, but they didn’t die before, so they did a solid 3 hours without a hiccup. 3. They are comfortable to wear; they sit well in the ear and don’t fall out. 4. Translation had good accuracy. I would say 85% accurate, enough to have a fluent conversation. 5. It doesn’t translate the second you start speaking; it takes 3 to 5 seconds to start translating. This is actually good as grammar construction between the two languages is so different that it needs to understand the sentence before it can translate it correctly. 6. We tried Chinese <-> Spanish (I speak Spanish), and it worked as well as Chinese <-> English. 7. The earbuds can be configured individually for 2 languages you can select how many of each (e.g. 1 English 3 Chinese, 2 English 2 Chinese, 3 English 1 Chinese), it seems you can connect up to 3 pairs so a total of 6 people. 8. The conversations get transcript recorded so you can review them later or create a summary of the conversation. This was very useful for my meeting. You can export them to the clipboard or email them, which is super helpful. 9. If you speak clearly, at a somewhat constant rate, and enunciate your words, it captures 95% accurately what you are saying. The not-so-good parts: 1. They don’t work well in noisy environments (we initially tried them at the airport). It was not picking up my voice consistently. 2. The “touch mode,” where you touch the earbud to start speaking, has only 1 beep sound. If you touch it again, you close the microphone. So if you touch it twice, it opens and closes the microphone using the same beep sound. Sometimes we tried talking, and it was not listening to our voice, so we had to touch it again, trying to guess if the microphone was open or closed. If the vendor could update this so it does a 2-tone beep (bup-bip / bip-bup) or a single bip to open/two-bips to close, to distinguish between open/close microphone, it would solve this issue completely. This was definitely a point of frustration during the meeting occasionally. 3. Accents will have an impact. The Chinese gentlemen were from two different regions. For one of them, the microphone would capture 90% of the message accurately; for the other one, it would go down to 60%/70%, so it was a little harder to understand what he was trying to say. But even with that, it was good enough to understand what we were talking about. I didn’t try the offline translation that some people reported as not working. I will try that later and update my review then. Bottom line, these are good solid translation earbuds, will definitely be keeping them and using them with my international coworkers. It's amazing what technology is now capable off, kudos to the Timekettle team.

This is such an impressive tool for communication. The wireless earphones are charged and stored with a discrete and sleek pod that is easy for travel and to slip into a pocket or bag. The wireless earpods are a good size and fit comfortably in the ear. They are labelled with R and L to show which war they should be used in and this also is used to identify the earpiece related to a particular language. There is a light on the side that let's you know when they are charged or in use. The earphones are used with an app called Timekettle, which can be downloaded on the Play or Apple store app. It has very clear directions to connect and use the earphones and also tells you the percentage of battery that is remaining on each earpiece. The earpiece is both a speaker and microphone, and in addition has a touch pad facility that allows you to control the translations and focus using the touch buttons on the side of the earpiece. The app gives a range of ways to use the app including listening to others and translating, listening in one language and translating to another or a two way conversation that is translated in real time. The app also serves as a visual form of communication too. It has very easy to understand and follow instructions, and is visually very easy to use and works quickly. The sound is very clear and I was also impressed with the accuracy of the sounds that thw microphone picked up. There is a large selection of different languages to select and translate from/into so very useful for travelling and communication in a range of situations. This device is quite pricey but would easily balance the cost with the exceptional ability and convenience in being able to communicate so quickly and easily with a range of people in a range of locations. There are so many ways that this device could help in different situations, from multi-cultural business meetings; travel, either business or pleasure; communicating in schools with non-English speaking students; communicating with a neighbour whose first language is not English, etc. The ease and speed of being able to set up and use this device opens such a range of possibilities of use. Very impressed- this is the future of communication.

Just about everyone in my family is at least bilingual, but some speak more than two languages, whereas I never seemed to get the hang of anything but English. So when I had the chance to try this Timekettle translator devices, I was curious. First off, they came without any battery charge, so I put them on to charge using the USB-C lead, and they do charge quickly. They are super easy to set up, but you do need to do it through the app (see the screenshot). They are comfortable to wear, but I did find they are not a secure fit. Once set up, you can download some languages for free, and others you have to pay for. My neighbour is French, but also fluent in many other European languages, and we thought we would see how good the translation is. However, this is where the issues started to really arise. The translation process is slow and delayed, and would be no good unless you asked the person to speak slowly. There was also some problems with a few words being translated too. Given the price of £299.99 for the earbuds (at the time of review in March 2023), and then the added costs if you required languages other than the ones that come free, this isn't cheap. Sure, it is cheaper than hiring a human translator, but I would still want this Timekettle to be more accurate and agile.

This pair of translator earbuds is an excellent tool for anyone who needs to communicate with people who speak a different language. The Timekettle WT2 Edge/W3 Translator Earbuds use wifi or cellular networks to provide two-way simultaneous translation. It is powered by the world's leading translation engines (DeepL, Google, Microsoft, iFlytek, etc.) and Timekettle's own to improve translation accuracy. This pair of earbuds also have noise-reduction technology to filter out background noise and four connection modes: Simul, Touch, Speaker, and Group Chat. Furthermore, in Simul mode, one translation earbud is shared with a partner, and both of their words are translated into bi-directional communication. Touch Mode operates by tapping the force sensor to activate voice pick-up and then touching again to translate. While the Speaker mode requires only one person to wear the real-time translator, the Group chat mode allows up to 40 people to speak different languages in the same chat group from anywhere. It is ergonomically designed to fit snugly in my ears for hours on end and supports three hours of continuous translating time on a single charge with an entire 12-hour portable charging case. It supports 40 languages and 93 accents online, making it ideal for handling conversations while travelling abroad, along with an 8-language offline translation package that includes Chinese, English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Korean, Russian, and German. The device also has an app that can be installed on iOS and Android, making it simple to use with a smartphone or tablet. It is very light to wear, does not slip, and is incredibly user-friendly to enjoy a variety of languages to interact with individuals from all over the world. I simply need to select the languages I want to communicate, place one earbud in my ear and one in the ear of the person I want to communicate with, and begin talking using the Bidirectional talking feature. The device will translate my words into another language and vice versa in high-quality audio. It also features a long battery life, so I never have to worry about recharging it during a conversation. However, there are some flaws in this Translator Device. Some of the issues I've had with it are that it's not very reliable or accurate when it comes to providing translations, and it frequently takes a long time to translate and process a sentence, which can be frustrating if I'm in a hurry. The device also has a limited vocabulary, which means it may be unable to translate specific words or phrases or recognize dialects and accents. Overall, the translation it generates can be inaccurate and confusing. Still, as long as the main idea is conveyed, it is acceptable, making it an excellent choice for travellers, students, and professionals to overcome language barriers.

I got this for my mother in law, who was helping us out with looking after our daughter here in the U.K. She’s Greek and wanted as much help as possible being able to understand what’s being said! The earphones look quite sleek and light and are stored and charged in a nice pod that easily fits any bag or pocket. They do fit most ears I reckon and they are clearly marked which one is which, which is quite important in terms of translation and languages! Users can also download the associated application, called Timekettle. It is very straightforward to download and use. I found that the app is quite multi-modal, in that it can help with writing something in one language and having it translated in the language of choice of the person wearing the earphones. Users can also hold a two way conversation that is being translated in real time! There is a wide selection of languages and features on the app and overall, I can see this being very useful in a number of situations, such as education, holidays and even business meetings.
