Does this have a manual heat control?

This product does not have a manual heat control. It has a very high heat level which generates skin moisture. It operates by holding down a lever. Presumably if one were to fall asleep, the hand would let go the toggle and the unit would shut off, thereby preventing a potential burn. I have found this heating pad effective for when my back has been injured as it delivers lots of high heat over a wide area. The type of heat it delivers is comparable to having a hot wet towel compress. The bag is also physically heavy compared to other more lightweight heating pads so it lays on the body well.

What is the weight of this pad?

Using my kitchen digital scale i weighed it four different ways:. Pad alone=31oz; pad and cord=38.2oz; pad and cover=41.4 oz; and pad, cover and cord all together=48.7oz. Cord is permanently attached, I supported it whine weighing the other components. Meyqui.

The box says model "055" (not "155") and the heating pad's size is 14" x 27".
