It lasted not even through a single oil change, broke the filter housing tines to the point that I have to replace it, and it is now permanently stuck on my oil filter housing. I bought the Auprex because it seemed like a higher quality product than my generic Walmart wrench that always felt a bit loose. What a mistake. Almost all of its tines broke off during my first oil filter housing unscrewing attempt. I torque my housing to 18ft*lbf and this thing broke while loosening a plastic housing with almost no torque. UNACCEPTABLE! Its your typical Amazon junk made in China. I want a quality product and would even pay 3x the Auprex price, but I simply could not find one and settled with the Auprex. Agitating, because I purchased the thing 6month ago and only now used it. Even if I had used it earlier, a return is not possible, because it is permanently stuck on my oil filter housing and impossible to remove. Not only do I need a purchase a new oil filter housing, I am also having to find a higher quality wrench. So, this Auprex experience cost me about $50. Avoid similar experiences and DO NOT BUY the Auprex Oil Filter Wrench!

The socket end of the rool is 26 mm, NOT 27 mm. I measured with calipers and the flats all measure 25.8mm to 25.9mm. A 26mm box end wrenche also fits perfectly. The filter tool itself is ok, it works. This is my second one, the first failed after about 5 uses. The key is to NOT over tighten the filter housing. It requires minimal torque. Torque it too much and good luck getting it off in 5K miles at the next oil change.

Well made and a necessity when changing the filter on my 2015 Toyota Corolla. The last place that changed my oil must have torqued the filter canister, because I had to literally kick my 1/2" ratchet to finally break the filter cover loose. Tried hitting it with a mallet, but only several kicks broke it loose. This wrench held up NO PROBLEM! I replaced the filter and housing and torqued to to Toyota specs - should have no issues next time.

The tool worked right away. Put it on the oil filter cover and it clung to it. I could attach my 3\8 rachet and off it came, easy as punch. Put the new one back on and the tool came right off the cover and the job was done. Very valuable tool.

don't let the fools "pros" at auto-parts stores sell you the wrong OFW. Very easily confused are wrenches for smaller <2L engines & the larger wrenches for motors >2L. The differences are subtle yet make a tremendous difference.
