Instenira 1x Maleficent Headpiece Costume Halloween Hat Maleficent Queen Horns Black

This headpiece is absolutely fantastic and a must for your Maleficent costume. You could pretty much where this without a costume and just a black dress and if your makeup was right you would look just like you want to. The first thing that is important to note as others have said, is that this is a rubberized headpiece. It's not too thick, not too thin, and in my opinion will fit the average size woman or man's head. If you normally are a guy or girl that has to buy a larger size hat, there's a possibility it'll fit because you can stretch it a little but it's not super stretchy rubber because it does hold its form and structure. So keep that in mind. Also keep it in mind if you have particularly long or thick hair. I have hair with layers to the middle of my back, but it's on the thinner side. I pulled up my hair in a very flat loose bun on the crown of my head. Held down with some clips this worked perfectly but there was plenty of room for more hair. The horns are stuffed with a foam like rolledmaterial that will not fall. The structure is very solid but again because this is a rubberized material it does not breathe at all and you will get super sweaty as other people said. If you have makeup on your face the headpiece does come down low and it will definitely rub off your makeup if you use a color even slightly darker or lighter than your normal foundation. It does not have ear holes or any ventilation because of the nature of the head piece to match the movie. If you were going to wear this for more than 20 minutes at a time, you will need to create some kind of ventilation. I recommend either taking a single hole punch or the tip of a scissors and pointing out some places you would think inconspicuously you could put some holes. The hearing thing really affected me as I wore this costume to work, and had to go into the bathroom about an hour after wearing it take it off and just cut out small ear holes in three places. I chose the middle of where my ear was just slightly above it and slightly below it. This gave me ventilation which helped tremendously with the sweating aspect, and definitely made it more tolerable. I wouldn't say that this is uncomfortable, but it is different than not having anything on your head so your neck and head may get tired. Mine just felt a teensy tiny bit sore at the end of the day because I never even pull my hair up in a bun. If you are a person that is used to wearing a high ponytail or pulling your hair up all the time you may not notice that big of a difference. But again the horns with the foam in it do I add some weight so it could create some discomfort. I highly recommend wearing this around your house for an hour. It may sound crazy, but you will definitely thank me when you see how sweaty you may get and how the muffled sound could affect you. The rubber material does allow it to be cleaned very easily, so in my case the headpiece area rubbed off some of my foundation which I was able to just clean off with a dry paper towel in the bathroom at my work. I didn't have to use soap or water or any makeup remover. That was nice. Everybody just loved the way that this looked though and one of the coolest things is when you catch a glimpse of your own shadow it is just so striking and completely worth the buy. When I got home and took this off after wearing for an 8 hour day, I wiped it down with just a damp washcloth and let it completely dry. Then I stored it in the bag that it came in. Definitely worth the buy.

I was afraid this would be a cheap looking, flimsy thing but I was pleasantly surprised. The rubber(?) is thick enough to give the headpiece some heft, the horns actually stand up and hold their shape ( they're stuffed with foam) and it's sturdy enough that it shouldn't tear when pulling it off and on. I have a lot of hair so I'm not sure if I am going to stuff it all underneath the headpiece or have a braid hang down my back. If I decide to wear my hair tucked underneath I might use a wig cap to keep it in place. I really wish I could have found a matching high quality Maleficent staff but most of the ones I found didn't get the best reviews. Oh well, maybe with the release of a second film some better props will be available. I mean, wings would be nice too.

It looked great! But it was kind of tight and I have thick hair which didn’t help. Ended up having to cut the back and use electrical tape to make it wider. Also after an hour the hat really hurt my ears, probably due to how tight it was.

Made well and easy to add the stuffing for the horns to stand up straight. A bit sweaty after a while of wearig.

This thing was awesome. I ordered a diff brand also - so i had 2 to compare. I wore this bc it was the best. Material, shale and look of this was best - kinda looks like faux leather (has thickness and sheen to it) I feel like it was very similar to what Jolie wore - if only i looked like her! Great quality and form. You will need to use a boby pin or two to hold it to your hair that is wrapped up underneath but once u do so - it holds. My kids LOVED it! I ordered retractable wings and wore with it and everyone asked where i got them - both wings and horns.

These are perfect! Can't wait to dress up as Maleficent and take my grandchildren out on Halloween night!
