Love it
Wonderful and thick paper, great for creating

It takes color pencil drawing in different ways.
The paper is sturdy (100 lb weight) and has a cold press finish, which means there is a texture to the paper, lightly pronounced, also acid free--will not degrade over time. I use Prismacolor pencils, a softer color pencil that blends well with other colors depending on the pressure when drawing. The paper takes color pencil, black or graphite pencil marks, and micron pens very well, whether drawing lightly or wanting solid color areas with no bleed through. I have never purchased color pencil paper before and consider this a good find. Strathmore consistently puts out great drawing papers.

Not WHITE! But has the perfect amount of tooth for colored pencil work
For colored pencil work, I like the 6โx8โsize. Keep in mind that the pages are ring-bound and not micro-perfed: if torn out, youโll need to trim the edge. BUT the pages are sized generously! This pad is actually 8.5โ long, so there is room to trim the torn edge and still have a 6โx8โ finished drawing. NOT WHITE, darn it!!! The pages have a warm tinge. Probably good for portraits or landscapes. I usually prefer a brighter white. UPDATE: have reordered this a couple of times now. Two-sided: the front of each sheet has a little tooth, the back is a little smoother. I like the front surface - itโs much easier to get a smooth color than on the cold-pressed watercolor paper I usually use; but still just enough tooth to grab color, and make for a satisfying, tactile, drawing experience. Much better than the complete smoothness of hot-pressed. The slight drawback is that this paper is also thinner than watercolor paper. Heavy drawing, or, say, a sharp impressed line, leaves an impression on the next pageโฆrendering it unusable. I sometimes put a piece of thicker paper or cardboard behind each page as I draw. Starting with the last page in the book and tearing out as I go works, too. The thinner paper could also be a benefit, as there are 30 sheets in a pad not much larger or heavier than a 20 sheet watercolor pad. That might make this pad more efficient for traveling. Unreliable quality, but that seems to be a supplier issue: the first pad I ordered arrived badly warped, as if an entire side edge had gotten wet. Completely unusable. The replacement pad arrived with slightly damaged corners. Conclusion: if the paper were white, and I could count on receiving a pad in good condition, Iโd give this five stars. As neither is the case, I donโt plan on ordering again. But Iโll use up this pad, and then decide.

Great product, will buy again
I was given a used set of Prismacolor pencils and some sketch pads. I used one sketch pad that I though would be perfect for color pencil drawing. It worked, but not well. Still, as it was really my first time using these pencils, I made allowances for my lack of knowledge about them and the paper. Then I ran out of paper. Searching for paper for use with these pencils, I finally found a review I could identify with. Thank heaven. Though it takes time reading through reviews, some people make it worth the while. I bought this paper on that basis alone, and I was amazed at the fact that it was so very much easier to use, just as had been stated. The pencil goes on smoother, is easier to blend and with far less pilling. I am grateful, and I recommend this paper for color pencil sketching.

Great for its intended use!
I've used Strathmore products for years and the quality is always good, but I hadn't bought the colored pencil paper yet. A recent purchase of some pricey colored pencils made me invest in some new paper, as well. The tooth is just right for colored pencils, allowing for layering plus some blending. The weight is nice for its purpose, too. I'm glad I bought it.

Perfect colored pencil paper.
I think this is pretty much the perfect colored pencil paper. My only minor quibble would be that the perforation should be more perforated. I hope they will some day also make this as a top-glued pad.

No complaints
Arrived in a perfect state and it was just as described. I used it with Prismacolor colored pencils as reviewers on Youtube recommended and I loved it. The colors blend really good. I havenโt tried any other paper though, but Iโm very happy with it.

When a great company like strathmore makes a paper exclusively for coloured ...
Expected a 400 series to be much thicker but disappointing to find this paper so thin. When a great company like strathmore makes a paper exclusively for coloured pencils it's bound to take up layers and hold good with erasures .... Unfortunately this paper is extremely thin and when you add layers it shows on the other side..... One advantage is that the surface is very smooth for color pencils and an even colouring is possible but it does not take layers well ..... I guess a 300 series or 400 series Bristol is definitely better for color pencil drawing
