What is the xylitol concentration in this toothpaste?

Please know that a lot of companies use xylitol from China, but Davids uses birch xylitol produced in the USA.  The primary purpose of including xylitol in Davids toothpaste is to help stimulate natural saliva production, as our natural saliva helps remineralize the enamel.  We do not publish the xylitol concentration as this is a proprietary part of our toothpaste formulation.

Isn't carrageenan not a healthy ingredient?!

Actually carrageenan is a safe and natural ingredient.....only an issue if you misuse this ingredient.  Carrageenan is simply seaweed that is harvested from the ocean, milled into a fine powder, and when we combine the seaweed powder (carrageenan) with the liquid ingredients, it gives our toothpaste it's gel consistency.  It also helps bind the mint flavor oil so it doesn't separate from the other ingredients.  If you ate large spoonfuls of raw carrageenan powsder,  it would expand in your stomach and cause issues, just like if you swallowed spoonfuls of yeast powder, it would also expand in your stomach and cause issues, but that does not make yeast "bad/toxic/unhealthy"....just a misuse of the ingredient.  There is also another non-food ingredient known as degraded carrageenan, that has industrial applications (used in x-ray equipment), where they take the same natural seaweed, but use acids and other harsh chemicals in the processing to make degraded carrageenan.  This non-food grade carrageenan is never used in food or cosmetics, but has caused much confusion as people cut/paste misinformation across the internet about "carrageenan".
