St. Elmo Steak House Coarse-Cut Horseradish, Great with Steaks and Other Meats

This product is much hotter than others that I have purchased. However, it is delicious. Just use a little until you figure how much you can take. But I will be purchasing this again. We love it!.

I’ve searched for real hot horseradish but am always disappointed. This product did not disappoint. I bought it at Winn Dixie but the store closed. Glad it was available thru Amazon. I love this product. Thank you.

I love me some horseradish. Given we are around the Holiday times which means there will be some roast beast, some good horseradish is in order. Most stuff you find in the store has a bunch of extra stuff in it. St. Elmo appealed to me based on the simplicity of the ingredients as well as supposedly the strength to the horseradish. This horseradish disappoints. First of all, the taste is odd. There is strange slightly sweet yet chemical taste to it. The smell is somewhat the same as well. I realize there is not any sugar items listed in the ingredients, so I am not sure where that is from. Nor the chemical smell/taste. Strength-wise, it has a little kick, but nothing great. Now, factoring in the price, this is a huge disappointment. We basically chucked it because of the taste. This isn't the horseradish you're looking for.

Tastes great and has some heat. Perfect horseradish!

Buy this somewhere else. The jar I bought at a grocery was great, very hot and more coarsely chopped than most -- however, Amazon shipped theirs the night before in a regular box. Wrapped well, but it had not been refrigerated for at least that long, and maybe for much longer. The jar clearly says "keep refrigerated," though it does not show up on the listing pictures (I looked before I bought). I had to get another bottle at the grocery store for Christmas dinner. That one was refrigerated, and had a better consistency. This is a food safety issue. I have no idea if the jar had been stored on a shelf in the warehouse - it was in bubble wrap but was room temperature. I had trouble getting to CS because buttons kept taking me to "not returnable" page. When I finally found a work-around, I was refunded, but CS blamed on delivery person. No way that person even knew what was in the box. My guess is it was stored in the warehouse on a shelf at room temp because no one looked at the box or the label. I would be very careful about ordering products that need to be kept cold unless from Fresh or listed as packed in dry ice. A two-day delivery is too long without refrigeration, even if cold before, which I doubt.

Awesome but... last several deliveries have lacked the heat level from the horseradish that makes this what it is!
